I first heard this term about seven years ago while listening to an online lecture or conference featuring people who were very well known at the time. They explained the logic and essence of this strategy. Simply put, a blue ocean is a new, untapped market with virtually no competition—or a market with minimal competition that operates by its own rules. This is partly what I demonstrate through my gambling mentorship and consulting, as I follow this strategy myself. It allows you to achieve your first results with minimal effort and expense.
Your task is to look for blue oceans in your own business. These could be different areas, including highly specific niches or markets tied to a particular GEO. You can also analyze search queries and identify emerging demand for which there is still no relevant supply on the market. Movie websites use this approach: people search Google for a movie, the next installment of a franchise, or its trailer, while some website owners edit an old trailer and present it as a trailer for the new installment. They collect traffic and make a decent living from it.
In general, working with semantics and demand is extremely important. In fact, it is essential. You need to know how to identify people’s needs and provide answers—satisfying search intent, as people like to say nowadays. The world is changing, and so are people and their search queries. Every day brings countless news stories and events, which in turn create demand for new products, services, information, and online tools. Meanwhile, some people are still selling plastic windows 🙂
Here are a few quick examples from the gambling niche:
1) A new traffic source—parasite SEO. For example, creating a Trustpilot page for a brand that does not yet have one, particularly in Tier 3 countries.
2) A new casino brand preparing to launch. You have insider information, build a website in advance, and take the first position while there is still no competition.
3) A new slot. You monitor providers’ upcoming releases, build a website in advance, and have a strong chance of reaching the top first.
4) A slot sequel—a second installment. You simply take 50 popular slots, create websites based on the formula “slot name + 2,” wait for their release, and collect traffic.
I came up with these examples simply to help you understand how it works. This approach may not work in every niche, and there are businesses where finding such opportunities is difficult. In that case, the solution is to change your niche or start working in an area where these opportunities exist. That is what flexibility is all about.
Of course, you can switch on your inner skeptic and start saying that everything already exists and every market is already occupied. But you definitely will not get far with that attitude. It is also very important to remain open—to new information, approaches, and directions. You need to look for opportunities instead of reasons why something will not work. Everyone decides for themselves which approach to take.
This is exactly the blue ocean strategy I demonstrate through my gambling mentorship and consulting, showing people how I personally operate and sharing my practical experience.
Wishing everyone backlinks and top rankings 🙂
