Blog Articles for an Online Store

What’s the point of writing blog articles for a new online store? Why attract informational traffic?

I’ve published around 400 articles on my sex shop’s blog. The website receives informational traffic, but what do I actually gain from it? It generates no conversions whatsoever. I’m starting to reconsider the entire strategy 🙂 I add anchor-text links from the articles to product and category pages, but I haven’t noticed any improvements there either.

I understand the value when an online store is already large and receives plenty of commercial traffic that generates conversions. In that case, informational content can help increase brand awareness, demonstrate expertise, and build customer loyalty. It’s great when an online store creates high-quality expert content.

But when the store is new and practically starting from zero, is it really worth spending time, money, and effort on this? What do you think?
