So, I moved to a new hosting provider and transferred nearly 300 websites — my entire network. I rented six servers in different locations corresponding to the GEOs I work with. Five days later, I noticed that one of my money sites had stopped working. I contacted my web developer, who checked everything and told me that the website had been blocked because of a trademark complaint.
I couldn’t understand what was going on. I contacted support and asked whether they had emailed me to notify me about the complaint. They said no. I asked, “So you block websites without notifying their owners or providing any warning?” They said yes. Can you imagine that? It’s ridiculous. They don’t even notify you.
Things worked differently with my old hosting provider. I always received an email, responded to it, and the restriction was lifted. We could then spend a month exchanging emails and resolving the issue. But here, they blocked the website immediately. The most interesting part is that the complaint was submitted by a competitor, not the brand itself. The brand is my partner: I built the website to promote it and showed it to them, and everything was fine. They’re simply not accepting traffic from Brazil at the moment.
So, I decided to move everything back, but this time I want to set it up properly. I’ve already rented six new servers, and we’re transferring 40–50 websites to each one. It’s been a real roller coaster. I understand that completely abuse-resistant servers probably don’t exist, but at least some providers don’t block websites immediately.
