How to Get a Backlink from Any Forum. Part 2

In short, I’m sharing a few more ideas for placing your link on a forum without attracting the attention of moderators or having it removed.

1. Edited Quote. Find an interesting and relevant forum thread with an active discussion. Join the conversation using one account and leave a couple of relevant comments. Then find another user’s comment and quote it in your reply. Highlight a word inside the quoted text, add your link or anchor text to it, and write your own response below. This makes it look as though the link appears in the post of an established forum member whom you are simply quoting rather than in your own message. This kind of edit can be difficult to detect, so such links often remain unnoticed.

2. Link Inside an Image. This is a common technique. Write a relevant post and insert an image related to the discussion, then wrap the image in a link. This can work on eight out of ten forums because moderators may not notice the link. Image links can also help diversify your backlink profile.

3. “Hacker Attack.” If there is a particularly authoritative forum that you really want a backlink from, you may need to put in more effort. Register two accounts, or preferably three, four, or even five, at different times. Gradually introduce them into an existing discussion, starting with one account and adding the others later. It is important to involve established forum members so that they also participate in the conversation. Then bring all four of your hypothetical accounts into the discussion and create a storyline: one user understands nothing and keeps asking questions, while the others initially share links to Wikipedia or YouTube before eventually linking to your website. It is essential to continue the conversation afterward so that the message containing the link moves higher up the thread and becomes established. In other words, you create activity that looks as natural as possible and follows a coherent storyline.

4. “I Can’t Decide.” The idea is to compare your website with leading sites in your niche while pretending that you cannot decide which product or service to choose. For example, you might say that you are unsure which faucet to buy: this one — followed by a link to Amazon, the second one — linked to AliExpress, or the third one — linked to your website. It is important to include at least three alternatives. This makes the comparison appear more natural, while your link blends in among well-known websites and attracts less suspicion.
