Brands With CIS Owners Face Much Higher Competition

By Андрей Сорока

I’ve noticed something: if a brand originally entered the CIS market and then expanded into Europe or Asia, the competition for its keywords is several times higher than for local brands—for example, those operating only in Australia. That’s because SEOs from the CIS simply flood the search results and climb over one another to reach the top 🙂

By “local,” I mean a brand whose keywords, according to Ahrefs, have search volume in only one country. Such brands usually have less competition and a lower barrier to entry. Consequently, you need to spend less money on backlinks. It makes sense to search for and identify these brands.

The harder a keyword is to find—the more hidden and difficult to access it is—the easier it will usually be to rank a website for it. That’s how I see it 🙂

Wishing everyone backlinks and top rankings 🙂
