I don’t know why, but when I first decided to try the gambling vertical with my own projects, I started with free traffic from Instagram instead of building my own websites.
The idea behind this approach is simple: videos generate views, some viewers visit the profile, and then follow the affiliate link in the bio.
I probably started with Instagram because I knew from experience that getting the first results in gambling SEO takes time. Instagram allowed me to run a quick test in just one week. On TikTok, for example, you need to gain 1,000 followers before you can add a clickable link to your bio. That requires a lot of work, while Instagram is much simpler.
I created several accounts at once — some targeting an English-speaking audience and, for some reason, another one targeting Poland. I had found what seemed like attractive terms at the time: a $180 CPA payout per deposit for Poland and 35% RevShare for other GEOs through the English-language account.
How could I generate a lot of views with Instagram Reels? I decided to create model accounts, which were essentially fake profiles. I found videos of random women online, downloaded them, processed them with a converter that supposedly made the videos unique by removing metadata and other information, and then reposted them to my accounts.
In the profile bio, I wrote that users could follow the link to place a bet or play at an online casino, and I also added a promo code. The videos received around 100–200 views each. I liked posts and followed men and women from dating communities, hoping they would visit my profile, look through the account, and notice the link.
The videos received views, people visited the profiles, and the affiliate link generated clicks. However, I didn’t get a single registration 🙁 So I concluded that this type of traffic didn’t convert into registrations or deposits.
I generated around 200 clicks before giving up. Perhaps if I had reached 1,000 clicks, someone would have registered. But managing the accounts and constantly reposting content required too much time, so it simply wasn’t worth the effort.
I occasionally test approaches like this to find out firsthand what works and what doesn’t. That was my experience — traffic relevance matters a lot 🙂
