I’m Testing Local Domains for Specific GEOs
So, I noticed something interesting with one of my LATAM websites. A couple of months after registration, it started performing well in Google. It uses a local .cl domain targeting Chile.
Without any backlinks, I outranked many .com websites that are several times older than mine and have solid backlink profiles.
I’m now registering another 10 local domains for Chile and Mexico. There are no major obstacles to registering local domains in these GEOs: you don’t need to provide documents or have a physical presence in the country.
Before this, the only local LATAM domains I had registered were for Brazil, but I didn’t get any results. I’m not sure why. Maybe it was because I registered a batch of 40 domains at once and made all the websites too similar.
This time, I’ll create the following separately for each domain:
🔹 a unique template;
🔹 a unique structure;
🔹 unique content;
🔹 unique visuals.
I’ve already registered the domains, and the templates are currently in development. I plan to launch the websites this week.
I may need to adjust my approach slightly: move away from launching large numbers of websites on .com domains and start focusing on local domains in LATAM countries.
Hugs to everyone 🫂
