A couple of days ago, I decided to try playing slots myself to experience the product firsthand 🙂
To be honest, I don’t really understand how most slots work. I played games whose mechanics I was familiar with—mainly Aviator and Mines. I played each game a few dozen times. And you know what’s funny? I ended up in profit. Yes, it was a tiny profit—just a few cents—but I didn’t lose all my money.
I did particularly well in Mines and ended up making a decent profit there. I’m not a gambling person at all. It has never really appealed to me. But while playing, I still felt a bit of excitement and engagement. You’re just lying on the couch, playing around with some money.
When I was a student, I often bet on sports—mainly football. It was practically a tradition in our dormitory. I don’t know why, but everyone would bet $2–5 and create accumulator bets with a potential payout of $5,000 🙂 And, of course, everyone lost.
Even now, I occasionally bet on Champions League matches or Shakhtar games. As a form of entertainment and a way to add some emotion, it’s perfectly fine. You deposit $25 and keep cycling it: you win some, you lose some. Can I say I’m really into it? Not at all, but it does make watching the match a little more interesting. Maybe I don’t get too excited because the amounts are small and insignificant to me—I bet around UAH 100–200 per match. If I were betting thousands of dollars, the excitement and emotions would probably be completely different. But I don’t want to do that.
So, is this already a gambling problem, or is it normal to do this occasionally? 🙂
