When entering the search query “Soviet soldiers,” the first suggestion Google displays is “Soviet soldiers rape German women.”
However, if you enter “American soldiers,” Google suggests learning what they think about Russians or watching them raise the flag 🇺🇸. There are no such issues with French soldiers either 🇫🇷. Even searches for German soldiers receive neutral suggestions from Google 🇩🇪.
What should you do in such a situation? Google has a “Report inappropriate predictions” option in the bottom-right corner. Click it, and the company will review your complaint and will most likely remove the suggestion. That’s what happened with the suggestion about Soviet soldiers: it is no longer displayed because Google removed it.
If suggestions that defame you or damage your reputation appear when someone enters your name or brand, report them.
