Google and Its Paradoxes

Here’s an example:

Website 1. A query like: streamer + casino brand + promo code. The search results are empty—there is nothing relevant in the top 100. I create a page, but after two weeks it only reaches the top 50. It has been sitting there for several weeks without moving. In fact, my page is the most relevant result in the top 100: it answers the question, satisfies the search intent, and contains exactly what people are looking for. There isn’t a single other page in the top 100 targeting this query and offering the promo code. Mine is optimized and includes the actual promo code. Funny, right? 🙂

Website 2. An article about a person published on an informational media website. It ranks first for queries like “name + additional keywords.” Then the person dies. People begin searching for information about them—what happened and other updates on the situation. My article says nothing about their death. I don’t update the content, so the information is old and no longer relevant. Meanwhile, many other websites report the person’s death, and the search results contain plenty of relevant, up-to-date information. Yet my article remains in the top position and hasn’t moved at all in two weeks, even though it has partially lost its relevance and timeliness. People search for what happened to this person, but my article—with no mention of their death—still ranks first. Paradox number two, right? 🙂

These two examples perfectly illustrate that Google still has plenty of room to improve and learn. It should be able to provide the most relevant answer and show the website that actually contains it, especially when the search results are otherwise empty. But Google still cannot always do that. So don’t be surprised if you struggle to rank your website in a competitive niche, even when you believe your answer is excellent, the best available, and highly relevant.

Wishing everyone plenty of backlinks and top rankings!
