First, FAQPage markup should only be used on pages containing questions and answers—not across every page, as major websites such as www.foxtrot.com.ua, hotline.ua, and eldorado.ua have done: http://prntscr.com/r1h8ya. Google explicitly states that if the markup is misused, “action will be taken.”
Second, it is not entirely clear how this markup affects website rankings. In theory, it allows a result to occupy more space in the search results, expands the snippet, makes the page more attractive to users, and generates more clicks. However, if users receive the answer without visiting the website, could this end up harming it?
We decided to experiment with this markup on several categories of our website. We’ll wait a couple of weeks and then evaluate the results, rankings, and CTR.
