Organic Traffic Directly Depends on the Landing Page’s URL Rating
Ahrefs analysts reached this conclusion after examining millions of websites. According to their findings, the amount of organic traffic a website receives depends on the URL Rating (UR) of its individual landing pages.
The conclusion is simple: the higher a page’s UR, the more organic traffic both the page itself and the website as a whole receive.
I decided to run an experiment and increase the URL Rating of my landing pages using both direct backlinks and Tier 2/Tier 3 link building.
I’m sharing the latest UR update for my landing pages. The screenshot clearly shows a correlation between a landing page’s URL Rating and its estimated organic traffic in Ahrefs.
Where there is a good UR, there is traffic. Of course, the traffic shown by Ahrefs is not the exact number of visitors to a page—it should be treated as a rough estimate.
Relative values are very important here. You need to compare your own pages that operate under similar conditions. For example, Ahrefs may estimate that one page receives 100 organic visitors per month while another receives 300–400. These are the figures that should be compared. Google Analytics shows the same correlation, although the actual numbers are different.
I noticed an approximate URL Rating threshold of around 20+. Once a page reaches this level, its traffic begins to grow significantly compared with other pages.
Conclusion: increase the URL Rating of the specific pages you are promoting.
