I Start Every Day by Checking Project Statistics
I start every working day more or less the same way — by checking the statistics for my projects.
The first thing I do is open Google Search Console, Ahrefs, and other services where I can quickly see what has been happening with the websites over the past 24 hours.
I look at:
— where clicks and impressions have increased;
— which pages or queries have started moving up;
— where, on the contrary, there has been a drop;
— what is happening with rankings;
— how the backlinks are doing;
— whether there are any anomalies that require attention.
When you have a lot of projects, without this kind of daily monitoring it is easy to miss some interesting growth or, on the contrary, a problem that is better to notice immediately rather than a week later.
Sometimes you check in the morning and one of the sites has suddenly started taking off. Sometimes Google decides to test your nerves a little and half of the charts are red 🙂 And sometimes nothing interesting happens at all.
But I like starting my day this way. You quickly look at the overall picture and already understand where you should focus more attention today and which tasks should be prioritized.
What do you usually start your working day with?
Email, tasks, analytics, calls, or do you open your work projects right away?
