Since when has Google Search Console allowed users to submit no more than five website pages for indexing per day? Did I miss something? 😅
Today, I decided to manually submit several new pages for indexing. I managed to inspect five URLs before Search Console notified me that the daily quota had been exceeded. There was a limit before as well, but as far as I remember, it was considerably higher.
Five pages per day is hardly enough, especially when launching a new website, updating content in bulk, or rebuilding a project on an expired domain. If a website has dozens of new pages, submitting them manually could take several days or even weeks.
Of course, there’s sitemap.xml and internal linking, and Google should eventually discover and crawl the pages on its own. However, manual submission through Search Console was a convenient way to speed up the discovery of important URLs and check whether there were any obvious issues with them.
It’s also unclear whether this is a new general restriction or whether the quota is calculated separately for each website and account. Perhaps the limit depends on the age of the domain, activity in Search Console, or the number of requests submitted recently.
Has anyone else encountered this restriction? Are you also currently able to submit only five pages for indexing per day?
